Toyota sold 8.4M vehicles in 2010 to hold Top Spot

TOKYO (AP) - Toyota sold 8.42 million vehicles around the world last year, making it the top global automaker for the second year in a row.
Toyota Motor Corp. said Monday its global sales including truckmaker Hino and Daihatsu, which makes small cars, rose 8 percent from 2009.
Toyota dethroned General Motors as the world's No. 1 automaker by vehicle sales in 2009 - a position GM held for nearly eight decades. The Detroit-based automaker sold more than 7 million vehicles last year.  More people are choosing Toyata brand, is it more economical in the long run ?
